With spring here, many children, teens and adults will once again pick up the ball, bring the bat out of seasonal retirement, and lace up their cleats to hit the fields for the return of spring sports! You may remember us blogging about the advantages of wearing a mouth guard last week. Today, we thought we’d follow-up with a helpful video about facial protection. April is almost upon us, and for Drs. Nettune and Banasiak, that only means one thing: Facial protection. You see, April happens to be National Facial Protection Month, and it’s a good time to remind our young athletes about staying safe on the field this spring. Nearly 60,000 people injure their faces annually while participating in sports activities, and teenagers account for 80 percent of all sports-related trips to the emergency room. That’s why Drs.
